Deciding to participate in therapy is a huge step in your journey of healing. I feel deeply honored to join with folx on this journey. I will unite with you to explore ways in which your experiences and current life circumstances may be leaving you feeling empty, unfulfilled, or lost. I am here to support you through this and to use your unique strengths as a basis for growth. I am a strengths-based, person-centered, and relational therapist. I emphasize our relationship as a container for change and believe that healing can occur in many different ways, therapy being one of these routes.
I believe that our stories and our histories are incredibly important vessels of knowledge and healing. Our bodies hold many depths of joy and of pain. I utilize somatic/body-based practices to deepen our connection with our bodies in order to move into a space of radical self-acceptance and to connect with our inner-child. I specialize in working with adolescents and adults who have experienced trauma, including complex trauma, those from or currently in non-traditional families, and those who are moving into a space of liberation.
I work from an anti-oppressive and de-colonized lens. I believe that therapy is a collaborative space and that you are the expert in your life. I will not be focusing on what is “wrong” with you, rather, I’ll be exploring with you the ways in which the world has left you feeling like you are not enough or too much. Together, we will both unlearn and learn different ways of accepting ourselves and of being in this world. You can expect to be met with warmth, candor, humility, and humor. Cultivating deep connection with others can be incredibly challenging and also very rewarding. My goal is to create meaningful connection with you in which you feel comfortable being your authentic self.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time outside, cooking, cuddling with my cat, and playing pinball. I find a great deal of healing myself through my relationships with others and with nature.
