Gennarose HinzoIndividual Therapist,
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker
Hi! My name is Gennarose, I typically go by Genna (she/her), I am a trauma therapist based in occupied ancestral land of the Duwamish (Seattle, WA). As a social worker and therapist, my approach is warm, human centered, and honest. I offer tools to support growth, both during and outside of sessions for adolescents and adults healing from trauma and navigating the impacts of systemic oppression. This includes learning how to build practices of radical self compassion, transforming and healing inner dialogue, expanding and deepening your connection to your body, your community, and your roots. Everyone's healing journey is unique, and I am here to empower you on yours.
My practice is personally and professionally rooted in working with folks facing substance use challenges, sometimes a symptom of trauma, often tied up within the criminal legal system. I have worked alongside youth and families as they navigate varying developmental stages, the foster system, and non-traditional family dynamics.
I believe that all humans are deserving of play, pleasure, rest, and connection. I integrate a somatic approach into therapy, inviting you to bring your whole self—mind, body, and spirit—into our work together. Healing is not a simple or linear process; it can be messy, complex, and challenging. I view this as an essential part of the process, and together, we will create a space where this "mess" can not only be acknowledged, but held, explored, and honored. I utilize a harm-reduction and human-based approach to foster profound work of coming back to your wholeness.
I view therapy as a collaborative space and believe that YOU are the expert of your own life, through incorporating a human-centered approach and emphasizing the importance of agency, we will unravel tangled cords. I take a non-judgmental, compassionate, and creative approach. Finally, I recognize the importance of understanding and externalizing systems of oppression that may be residing in the mind and body. Together, we will work to identify and deconstruct these forces, with a hope to reconnect with yourself.

You are so courageous for taking this step to explore the depths of yourself, and I am deeply honored that you are considering this space. I look forward to supporting you on this transformative journey.
In my free time, I embrace joy through trying new things, tending to my many house plants, attending concerts, listening to podcasts, and cuddling my pup. I feel most empowered near a body of water and playing outside amongst nature.
