Cas Cohen

Individual Therapist

Graduate Intern

Welcome! I’m Cas (they/them), and I help LGBTQIA+ individuals, young adults, and people in the midst of complex life challenges find steadiness, self-compassion, and a renewed sense of belonging. I believe in meeting people where they are, without judgment, and walking alongside them at their own pace.

You might be undergoing a major life transition, feeling anxious, disconnected, depressed, stuck, lost, isolated, or overwhelmed. Perhaps you’re navigating relational difficulties, identity shifts, experiencing trauma or grief, or simply ready to step into a new chapter where relationships and circumstances are different.

My approach is anti-oppressive, empathetic, warm, and authentic, with the goal of creating a collaborative space for insight, change, and growth. For me, this means I am person centered while also holding the bigger picture — actively recognizing the challenges of systemic inequities and power dynamics which impact mental health. By centering people I work with and recognizing that they are the experts in their own lives, I ensure that all identities are respected.

I’m a second-year Master of Social Work candidate at Smith College Social for Work and on track to become a Licensed Social Work Associate Independent Clinical (LSWAIC) in Washington State in summer of 2026. I have experience in community crisis response, case management, hospital care, and residential mental health settings, supporting clients across a wide spectrum, including LGBTQIA+ young adults, domestic violence survivors, individuals living with bipolar and schizoaffective disorders, people experiencing suicidal ideation, and those faced with housing insecurity.

As a queer and trans/non-binary person, I deeply value the vibrant queer community that continues to shape and support me. I carry immense gratitude for the role therapy has played in my own life. I have experienced how support and healing can take many forms. I consider it a privilege to be invited into your story.

Outside of work and school, I recharge with reality TV, dancing, and exploring the outdoors, and the wonders of the Coast Salish lands.
