Mika Mensonides

Individual Therapist

Graduate Intern

I help individuals who feel misunderstood, isolated, or pressured to hide parts of themselves find resilience, authenticity, and meaningful connection.

I believe that every person deserves to be seen and valued for who they truly are. Our identities, cultures, and lived experiences shape how we view the world and ourselves, and those stories matter. As a therapist, I am curious about your story, your past, your present, and the life you want to create moving forward. I believe counseling is most effective when it is collaborative: you are the expert of your life, and I will walk alongside you to support, encourage, and challenge when needed. Together, we will work to navigate difficulties, explore new perspectives, build on your strengths, and foster healing and hope. I deeply value authenticity, integrity, empathy, and compassion in the counseling process. My style is relational and genuine, with space for creativity, curiosity, and even a touch of humor.

I know it can be exhausting to feel different, to carry the weight of expectations, or to live with anxiety and self-doubt. Change often feels overwhelming, especially when you’ve been taught to mask or minimize who you are. In our work together, we will explore new ways of thinking and responding, embrace your strengths, and create strategies that help you move toward a life that feels true and fulfilling to you.

I am earning my Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling at Western Washington University and will graduate in spring 2026. I am pursuing LMHCA licensure and bring training in motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and the social model of disability.

In my free time, you can often find me thrifting, working on a DIY project, playing video games, or attending local community events. I love hosting friends and finding creative ways to connect.
