Andrea Yoshida

Individual Therapist,
Licensed Social Work Associate, Independent Clinical

Hello! My name is Andrea and I use she/her pronouns.

Therapy is a place where we can take time to reconnect our mind and body, and learn ways to remain connected to ourselves even when faced with major life challenges. My therapy style is trauma-informed and strengths-based, and strongly influenced by psychoanalytic and psychodynamic schools of thought. This means that I am endlessly curious about your story as you choose to tell it and the ways that you have faced challenges and achieved triumphs throughout your life. It takes humility and courage to seek support and connection in today’s world. I am honored to meet you wherever you are.

I have a passion for working with individuals impacted by chronic illness informed by extensive professional experience supporting adults living with HIV and my own personal experience of managing an autoimmune condition. Physical wellness and illness are inextricably linked with our inner worlds of emotion, stress, and coping mechanisms. Trauma, stigma, oppression, depression, anxiety, and shame can also be explored and understood in this context. In addition to work with adults impacted by chronic illness, I also have experience working with college students navigating life’s transitions, as well as children and families healing from the trauma of sexual abuse and sexual assault.

Outside of my clinical work, I am a lifelong learner and a lover of books. When I am not nose-deep in a book, I am usually enjoying music either through dance or singing. I also love to paddleboard in the summer and have recently started gardening. I look forward to working with you!
